That we are in uncharted territory and nobody knows what will happen. That the science isn't settled. That caution is warranted. That children can't possibly know.

Jules Gill-Peterson wrote an entire book proving that every word of that is a lie.

Histories of the Transgender Child, first published in 2018, is an academic monograph that should be mandatory reading for every provider working in gender-affirming care, every advocate defending the existence of trans children, and every person who has been told that what's happening now is unprecedented. It is not.
